Lecture: Recent Trade Actions’ Impact on Houston Ship Channel with Vincent DiCosimo
About the Lecture
Recent U.S. trade proposals have sparked much attention from the shipping community and those that work closely with the maritime industry. Imposed and proposed tariffs on traditional trading partners, fees up to $1.5M on Chinese built vessels, and efforts to grow the U.S. merchant fleet with new funding sources are being considered and, in some cases, already put in place to strengthen American supply chains. Unfortunately, many think these actions will have catastrophic impacts to U.S. industries, and greatly increase costs for shippers, producers, traders, and ultimately the consumers. Come learn more about these actions and how they impact industry here in the Houston Ship Channel from Vincent DiCosimo, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Targa Resources.
