In 1965 Tom joined with a few San Antonio high school graduate’s intent on attending Texas A&M University. As one of the first few classes to graduate the Texas Maritime Academy as part of Texas A&M, Tom obtained a BS in Marine Engineering and has spent the entirety of his almost 50 year maritime career serving variously as a seagoing engineer, navy line officer, employed by naval architects, marine propulsion and control system engineering companies, OSV, tanker, oil spill and other vessel type operators responsible for vessel chartering and sales. In addition, Tom has served as VP Business Development to domestic shipbuilding companies. Most recently Tom has worked for an Offshore Wind Construction Vessel company in China.
Tom is enjoying 44+ years of marriage to his supportive wife, sailed and rowed his own boats, still loves to fish, and is now honored to serve the Houston Maritime Education Center and Museum.
