Special Lecture Event: Finding the Virgo

Following the US withdrawl from Vietnam, 7-year-old Lauren Vuong and her family faced perilous seas to escape communist persecution. Her harrowing journey aboard a small boat led to a near-death experience at sea and miraculous rescue by American-flagged LNG carrier, the SS LNG Virgo, that forever shaped her life and values.

Settled in America, Vuong embarked on a decades-long search for the captain and crew of the SS LNG Virgo. Finding the Virgo, a multiple award-winning documentary film, recounts this poignant journey.

Please join Houston Maritime Center & Museum for a special screening of Finding the Virgo with survivor and film producer Ms. Lauren Vuong and her unique personal commentary on this gripping story.
