The marine industry is in a state of continuous improvement, as it looks at various options to reduce and remove carbon from it’s fuel sources, driven by regulatory, social and financial pressures. ABS has laid out various options for owners to consider as they progress through this transition phase, from a carbon based fuel to a low carbon / carbon neutral one. ABS will explain the drivers, the options and offer some opinions on where the market may go, which will be different depending on the market sector under consideration.

Peter Fitzpatrick is Senior Vice President, Global Offshore market sector for ABS, responsible for client relationship management and business solution development across the ABS operational hemispheres. Peter leads the strategy for Global Offshore Renewables and Sustainability within ABS, with a special focus on Offshore Wind and the growing market in the U.S.
Prior to joining ABS, Mr. Fitzpatrick was Vice President Ship Design and Construction for BG Group where he was responsible for the technical operations of the company’s LNG vessel acquisition programs. Fitzpatrick has worked in a number of gas shipping-related roles throughout his career and has a Bachelor of Engineering in Ship Science from Southampton University and completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
