About the Speaker:

Hannah Kaplan is the founder and Vice President of Barrier Beauties, one of the first off-bottom oyster farms in Texas as part of Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Cultivated Oyster Mariculture program. As Vice President, Hannah oversees operations and sales. Hannah worked in the hospitality industry when the pandemic hit, shutting down her job, so she decided to pursue a new opportunity in the growing aquaculture industry. Hannah was born in raised in Houston. When she is not working or on the water, she loves to spend her free time hiking with her dog, Hershey!
